Forest reflection
Find water (a puddle, stream, pond) and photograph the trees or sky reflected in it. Get low if you have to.
Four materials
Find buildings made of four different materials: brick, glass, wood and concrete (or stone). Photograph one example of each, four photos total.
Geometry collage
Find a triangle, a square, a circle and a hexagon, all within a few minutes' walk. Photograph each one and lay the photos out side by side. Bonus if all four fit in a single shot.
Half my height
Find an object that is exactly half the height of one of your team members. Use the team member to compare. Photograph the team member next to the object so the comparison is clear.
Hidden detail
Find a small detail in a public artwork that most people walk past without noticing (a face hidden in a pattern, a tiny figure, a hidden symbol). Photograph the detail close-up.
Insect close-up
Find an insect (ant, beetle, ladybug, anything with six legs) and take the best close-up photo your phone can manage. Hold steady.
Life on a log
Find a fallen log or tree stump with something growing on it: moss, ferns, fungi or a tiny new plant. Photograph the patch of life on the dead wood.
Modern surprise
Find a piece of modern or contemporary art (something geometric, abstract, surprising or that you do not immediately understand). Photograph it and write one word for how it makes you feel.
Mosaic or tile art
Find mosaic or tile art (small pieces forming a bigger picture or pattern). Photograph it and try to count how many different colors of tiles you can see.
Most windows
Hunt for the building with the most windows on the side facing you. Photograph it and count exactly how many windows you can see.
Mural or wall painting
Hunt for a mural, graffiti piece or wall painting. Photograph the whole work, then take a close-up of one detail you find interesting.
No parking
Find a NO PARKING sign. Take a team photo where everyone pretends to be cars trying to park, with one team member sternly waving them off.
Old next to new
Find a place where an old-looking building stands right next to a modern one. Photograph both in the same shot. The bigger the contrast, the better.
Oldest building you can find
Walk around and find the oldest-looking building you can spot. Take a team photo in front of it. Try to guess how old it is, then look for clues (a date, a plaque, a sign).
One-minute people count
Pick a busy spot where people walk past. Set a timer for one minute and count exactly how many people walk by. Write the number down and photograph the spot.
One-way arrow
Find a ONE WAY sign (a black rectangle with a white arrow). Take a photo where every team member points in exactly the same direction as the arrow. All hands aligned, no exceptions.
Pattern in nature
Look for a natural pattern: spirals in bark, the veins in a leaf, ripples in a puddle, the shape of a pinecone. Photograph the most interesting pattern your team can find.
Public clock
Find a clock tower, church clock or other public clock you can see from the street. Photograph it and write down what time it shows.
