ChangeBridge over the Maas
On the Sint Servaas Bridge you have the best view of the Maas and the city. Take a group photo in the middle of the bridge with the water and the city clearly behind you.
Burgundian coronation
Today the guest of honour is king or queen of Mestreech. Crown them with a sash, tiara or other festive accessory and take a photo of the official coronation, ideally with a Burgundian backdrop like a terrace, church or bridge.
Burgundian feast
Maastricht is famous for its Burgundian way of life, with great food and drink. Order a shared snack somewhere (a charcuterie board, fries with satay, anything goes) and take a group photo with everyone tucking in.
Carnival dance
Maastricht and carnival belong together. Spontaneously break into a group dance on the Vrijthof or another square, with or without music, and capture it in a video or photo.
Kick-off in Mestreech
The party starts! Find a true Maastricht spot (a square, a small bridge, a cosy alley) and take a group photo where everyone jumps in the air at the same time with the guest of honour in the middle. Everyone off the ground, otherwise it does not count.
Limburg vlaai
No visit to Maastricht without a real Limburg vlaai (fruit pie). Buy a slice at a local bakery (cherry, rice, apricot, your call), share it and take a group photo with everyone's mouths full.
Maas selfie
The Maas gives Maastricht its name (Mosa Trajectum, "crossing of the Maas"). Find a spot at the waterside and take a beautiful group selfie with the river behind you.
Medieval heroes
The Helpoort dates back to 1229. Take a group photo under the gate where everyone strikes a dramatic medieval pose, think knights defending the city or ladies waving to their heroes.
Mestreechter wanted
Convince a random Maastricht local to teach you one fun fact or a word in Mestreechs (the local dialect). Take a photo with your impromptu city guide and practise the word together right away.

Onze Lieve Vrouweplein is one of the prettiest terrace squares in the country. Find a spot among the trees, order something festive and take a photo of the official toast. To the guest of honour!
