What kind of experience are you looking for?
And which city?
ChangeBay Area kick-off
The hunt begins! Find a typical SF backdrop (a cable car track, a Victorian facade, a steep hill) and take a group photo where everyone jumps in the air. Everyone off the ground or it does not count.
Bay cheers
Find a spot with the Bay, the bridge or a SF landmark behind you, grab a coffee or a drink and take a group toast photo. To the city by the Bay!
Cable car classic
San Francisco still runs the world's last manually operated cable car system. Find a cable car (running, parked at a turnaround, or a track) and take a group photo with it clearly in frame.
Checkpoint: Fisherman's Wharf
Navigate to Fisherman's Wharf. Check in once you can hear the sea lions barking from Pier 39.
Checkpoint: Golden Gate Bridge
Navigate to a viewpoint of the Golden Gate Bridge (the south vista point works great). Check in once those orange towers fill your view.
Checkpoint: Lombard Street
Navigate to the famous crooked block of Lombard Street between Hyde and Leavenworth. Check in at the top or bottom of the eight hairpin turns.
Checkpoint: Painted Ladies
Navigate to Alamo Square Park, where the famous Painted Ladies row of Victorian houses lines the hilltop. Check in once you can see them.
Crooked street snake
Lombard Street has eight hairpin turns. Take a group photo with the team standing in a "snake" formation (one in front of the other, in a curve) that mirrors the shape of the street, with the road clearly in shot.
Foggy pose
San Francisco fog is so iconic locals named it Karl. Whether the fog is real or imagined today, take a group photo where everyone pretends to be lost in dense fog (squinting, hands stretched, dramatic poses).
Full House front yard
The Painted Ladies were the opening shot of Full House. Take a group photo on the lawn of Alamo Square with the Victorian row clearly behind you, in any pose that fits a 90s sitcom intro.
Group finale in San Francisco
The final challenge! Find a beautiful SF spot (the bridge, a hill, the Wharf) and take an amazing group photo with the whole team in shot. A photo for the ages, well done everyone!
Hill climb pose
San Francisco is famous for ridiculously steep hills. Find a steep block, line the team up along the slope and take a photo where you all lean in different directions because of the gradient.
International Orange shot
The Golden Gate is painted in the famous shade "International Orange". Take a group photo with the bridge clearly behind you and try to match its colour with something on someone (a scarf, a hat, a sock).
Sea lion serenade
The sea lions at Pier 39 have lived there since 1989. Take a group photo with the sea lions visible behind you. Bonus points if you imitate their bark for a short video.
SF local insight
Convince a local San Franciscan to share one favourite neighbourhood, hidden gem or hot take about the city. Take a photo with your impromptu guide and remember the tip.
Sourdough bowl share
San Francisco sourdough has been baked here since the Gold Rush. Get a clam chowder bread bowl (or just a sourdough loaf) at the Wharf, share it with the team and take a photo of the first bite.
Spot a Castro rainbow flag
Walk into the Castro and find a giant rainbow flag or rainbow crosswalk. Photograph the colours.
Spot a Chinatown gold dragon gate
Find the Dragon Gate at Grant and Bush. Photograph the gold-and-green dragons.
Spot a Chinatown lantern
Walk into Chinatown and find red Chinese lanterns hanging above the street. Photograph the lanterns.
Spot a fortune cookie factory or shop
Walk into Ross Alley in Chinatown and find the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. Photograph the storefront.
Spot a hippie shop in the Haight
Walk into the Haight-Ashbury district and find a 60s-throwback shop or rainbow flag. Photograph the storefront.
Spot a Mission burrito
Find a Mission-style burrito on a foil-wrapped tray (La Taqueria, El Farolito). Photograph the burrito.
Spot a Mission District mural
Walk into the Mission and find a mural on Balmy Alley or 24th Street. Photograph the wall.
Spot a North Beach Italian café
Walk into North Beach (Little Italy) and find a café terrace (Caffe Trieste). Photograph the cafe.
