Frequently asked questions
The duration is up to the organizer when they set up the adventure. As a guideline, a focused day across South Congress, downtown, the Capitol and Lady Bird Lake ticks off most of the easy items, and stretching across a weekend (with East Austin and the Congress Bridge bats) lets a determined group complete all 30.
Each of the 30 items is a camera challenge. When you spot the thing, take a photo and submit it; the bingo card tracks progress. Play solo, with friends or split into teams and race to tick off the most items.
Some items (the Congress Bridge bats, a specific live-music venue) need timing. Sweep South Congress for the easy items, the Capitol for civic, Lady Bird Lake for the trail, 6th Street and Rainey for music and bars.
South Congress (SoCo), downtown 6th and the Capitol hit the most items in a walking loop. Add Lady Bird Lake, East Austin for murals and the Congress Bridge for the bats at dusk.
Yes during the day. Kids love spotting cowboy boots, breakfast tacos, the bat colony and the I Love You So Much mural; adults enjoy hunting live-music venues, queso bars and Texas BBQ. 6th Street is adult-oriented at night.
