Frequently asked questions
The duration is up to the organizer when they set up the adventure. As a guideline, a focused day across Midtown, the Village and Lower Manhattan ticks off most of the easy items, and stretching across a weekend (with Brooklyn and the Statue of Liberty) lets a determined group complete all 30.
Each of the 30 items is a camera challenge. When you spot the thing, take a photo and submit it; the bingo card tracks progress. Play solo, with friends or split into teams and race to tick off the most items.
Some items (a Broadway marquee, the Staten Island Ferry) need a specific neighbourhood. Sweep Midtown for the easy items, the West Village for cafes and brownstones, Lower Manhattan for the financial district and the Brooklyn Bridge for the harbour items.
Midtown (Times Square, 5th Avenue, Grand Central) hits the most items. Add the West Village or SoHo for indie shops, Lower Manhattan for skyline and Liberty, Brooklyn for views back. The subway is the fastest connector.
Yes. Kids love spotting yellow cabs, hot-dog carts, Lady Liberty and the Empire State; adults enjoy hunting bagels, NYPD signs and Broadway marquees. No alcohol stops are required.
